Accused RBC firebomber denied bail

OTTAWA – A retired civil servant accused of firebombing an RBC branch again lost his bid for bail Wednesday. Roger Clement, 58, appealed a justice of the peace’s detention order but was denied by a Superior Court judge. The judge’s decision and the evidence she heard are covered by a publication ban. An update from the Movement Defense Committee in Ottawa on the last of three defendants still remaining in prison and an upcoming bail hearing on August 25, 2010.  There is fund-raising and contact info at the bottom.  The three were arrested on June 18 and charged with the May 18, 2010, arson of a Royal Bank of Canada branch in Ottawa.
